The band are massively pleased to announce that they will be releasing their new 5 track EP - 'Ghettoblaster', on Manchester based label, Pumpkin Records...
These are a good bunch of people doing a lot of good work with home grown bands who are keen to keep the true thos of DIY alive...

GERMANY WE LOVE YOU...

The Defekters had an amazing time taking their sounds to Germany on their first European micro tour, last month. Stopping in both Cologne, for Freedom Sounds Festival, at an amazing venue, Gebaeude 9, which retains a real, punk vibe and that has protested to keep its place in its community, against the gentrification of Cologne (the picture left was taken outside this iconic venue) and then the band moved onto, Unterwaldhausen, for Querbeat Festival. The Defekters made quite an impact on both the German audiences and fellow musicians and made some very good friends along the way. The band hope to be back in Germany in 2017 as part of their European tour... Watch this space!

Return to The 100 Club...
After storming the stage at The 100 club back in January, The Defekters have been asked back to the legendary venue to support the amazing Rhoda Dakar as she sings hits from The Bodysnatchers. The event will take place on June 18th 2016.

SECRET GARDEN PARTY 2016
The Defekters are pleased to announce that they will be bringing their sounds to The Secret Garden Party this year, in the Rhumba Rum bar on Friday 22rd July. This is an amazing festival the band have been hoping to get to for the last few years... So you can expect a big show! Other acts on this years billing include, Primal Scream, Air, Caribou, Zuri Aura, Beans on Toast & The Meow Meows. For info & tickets look here...
BOOMTOWN FAIR - CHAPTER 8
The Defekters are happy to announce their 3rd year at Boomtown Fair. The band didn't think they would be taking their sounds there this year as the line up is jam packed with all the best artists in Reggae/Dub/Ska/Punk/DnB/House/Techno/Psychedelic/Gypsy swing and anything inbetween... BUT at the last moment they got a suprise email offering them a slot in the jump up/stomp about, Chinatown Courtyard... You can catch them on Friday afternoon 12th August!
SILVERSTONE F1 & MOTO GP
The Defekters will be taking to the main stage at both Silverstone's Formula 1 ( 8th - 10th July ) and Moto GP ( 2nd - 4th Sep ) this summer. The music and entartainment will take place at Silverstone Woodland Camping grounds. For details on the events look here...
IRIE Magazine & Riddim Magazine...
The Defekters have been making International waves and have been invited to feature in both, California based IRIE Magazine, which goes out worldwide and is available for free subscription and download (February edition) here...
The Defekters have also been invited to feature in European Reggae publication, RIDDIM Magazine, which goes out to 45,000 readers across Germany, Belgium, Spain and Italy. RIDDIM will be reviewing the bands new 'Ghettoblaster' EP and including a new track on their front cover in March's edition...

Defekters to Germany...
The Defekters, will be taking their unique blend of sounds, off UK Grounds, for the first time in April. When they embark on a mini tour to Germany, where they will be making appearances at both Freedom Sounds Festival and Querbeat Festival...
The band are really excited and are looking forward to opening the doors to further international bookings!
The London International Ska Festival...
This years London International Ska festival is set to be BIGGER than ever... This 4 day event, set across London's top venues, hosts the cream of the crop from the top national and international players in the world of SKA. So if this is your sound, this is your festival! The Defekters will be making sounds with Bob Andy, Pama International, Tighten Up Crew and The Indecision at The Garage in Highbury on Good Friday, 25th March.
